Moonstone in carved applewood pendant

           at the Well of Stars, Lake Elmore, Vermont

    Ancient Romans believed that moonstone shimmered because it was made from moonlight.  It was said to arouse the tender passions and to open its wearer to sensitivity and intuition.  It is one of the birthstones for June.
