    Star sapphires have been considered powerful talismans since ancient times, guiding travelers and seekers of all kinds, and even protecting their former owners after they have been given away. Sapphires are said to preserve from envy and attract divine favor, and are the birthstone for September and the anniversary stone for the 5^th and 45^th years of marriage.
