Silver trillium with Apache tear,
        carved applewood pendant

           Designed and carved by Dominic Koval
           at the Well of Stars, Lake Elmore, Vermont

   Legend has it that this form of obsidian, sometimes also called Volcanic Glass since it is produced by lava flows, is actually the petrified tears of the Apache women who watched their warriors leap from high cliffs rather than be captured by the U. S. Cavalry in the late nineteenth century.
